What a wonderful painting! I too love red hair and occasionally dye mine to match... But that's not the point of this critique!

Let's get down to it.

The first thing I noticed with this piece is that you weren't afraid to use a lot of vibrant colors along with the softer pastels. This gives the piece a wonderful level of depth and which makes the white space around the figures seem like an enhancement rather than just a lack of artwork.

The greens and blues in the large fish's scales and fins complement the reds in the woman's hair (really! They're complementary colors on the color wheel!) which gives this piece a nice sense of balance. It's color scheme is not too cold, not too warm.

You also have a good grasp of human anatomy, the facial features are proportionate, the eyes and lips have depth, and the nose suits the shape of the face.

All in all, I think this is a beautiful painting and if you hadn't considered selling digital copies of it before now, maybe you ought! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/>
